The Guardian: JK Rowling hints Fantastic Beasts movie will reveal 'American Hogwarts'
JK Rowling has confirmed on Twitter that the existence of a long-mooted American school of witchcraft and
wizardry could be revealed in new Harry Potter spin-off movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
...the institution’s name is “immigrant” in origin, is not based in New York, and is founded on principles of
magic relating at least partly to Native American culture.

Eddie Redmayne, who will play lead Newt Scamander in the series, was spotted in the northern English
town of Ludlow (a possible movie location) over the weekend. According to local fans who met him at a shop,
Redmayne claimed he was in town to visit friends, though residents heard otherwise....

and the Sorcerer’s Stone  fully illustrated by award-winning artist Jim Kay. (x)

The casting call for young Modesty stated that the girl chosen would have to be available for filming from August until January 2016, though it never confirmed it would start then, so it is plausible the movie already began production. Modesty's casting has yet to be confirmed by Warner Bros.
Dan Fogler, who will play Muggle Jacob in the series, left these two cryptic tweets on Monday, leading to believe
he is well into production for Fantastic Beasts, as well.

... Alison Sudol, who will play Queenie, younger sister of Tina (Katherine Waterston), confirmed on her Instagram that she got to London this past weekend to begin her 'next chapter' - that being the film series.
"I got up and was going to do all kinds of stuff and then instead I got back into bed and have done no stuff at all. It's raining and it sounds so soothing and lovely overhead. So unbelievably excited to be here that I would do a cartwheel if it wasn't so nice and cosy in bed. Feeling so grateful and happy and warm and overwhelmed with love. #jetlag #london #newchapter#happiness"
alisudol (x): simply magic. over the moon. such an honor. #fantasticbeastsandwheretofindthem...
They are both very excited.

The real Lili Elbe and Eddie Redmayne in ‘The Danish Girl’

Excerpt from a letter written by Lili Elbe née Einar Wegener in 1930 shortly before her last surgery: “…One thing however consoles me that were it otherwise I must soon die. Grete and I believe we are dreaming, and are fearful of waking. It is too wonderful to think that Lili will be able to live, and that she will be the happiest girl in the world and that this ghastly nightmare of my life is drawing to an end. This wretched comedy as a man! Without Grete I should have thrown up the sponge long ago. But in these dark days I have had a fresh opportunity of seeing what a splendid girl she is… she is an angel. Overexertions, her own sufferings, have left her unscathed. She has contrived to work for two, now that I am no longer worth much…“

On-Set Footage 'My Week with Marilyn' - Living South 2012 Feb. interview quotes

Interview with British star Eddie Redmayne in the run up to the release of My Week with Marilyn
By Anthony Pearce (via) - cover feature in Living South magazine. PDF available here.

Eddie redmayne quotes from the article:
.
“I’d be sat there every night and another Knight of the Realm would just wander in,”

“There’s something quintessentially British about it,”

“I’m not aggressively ambition. The criteria for accepting work is just whether or not it appeals to me. Whatever medium that is. Whether it’s on stage or television or film is of no consequence really.
And I don’t sit there think ‘Oh God, I wish I had that career’. I remember working with Alfred Molina, when we did ‘Red’ and I remember him saying ‘A career is something you look back on, rather than project’. I feel you take it step by step, pace by pace,”

“With theatre you have to reach the pinnacles of your energies by 7.30 in the evening. The great thing about stage is that if you screw it up one night you can go and sort it out the next. On film you’re working from seven in the morning to 11 at night, and probably six days a week.
You have to hit those emotional moments repetitively while you’re on a scene, and when you go home at night, that’s it done, and you’re never going to have another go at it. So if you haven’t nailed it… then you go and have a sleepless night thinking about how much better you could have done it,”

“Also film takes you to different parts of the world. I was shooting in North Carolina this year and in Hungary, and so it’s much more of a circus like existence. Often all of you are living on location together and there’s a familial quality to it.”

“I’ve lived [in Borough] for about four years. I have various favourite things… The market obviously, all of that Southbank area, right from where the National [Theatre] is, all the way down to Shad Thames. The last ten to 15 years, it has become European in the most wonderfully, uniquely British way. There’s the celebration of the river… and I love the Design Museum in Shad Thames.
I studied my first ever play there. It wasn’t at the Globe Theatre, but it was with the Globe Theatre company. We rehearsed there. That place has always got special value. And you can always nip across the river to St Pauls for evensong. You try and abuse those things, that London has and gives willingly but doesn’t advertise.”

“Do you know a place called El Vergel? It’s a great south American restaurant in Borough that I run straight to when I’m home. I gave away my pub in an interview last time, I think might keep it to myself!”

“[People recognise me] sporadically, more in the States than they do here. But it tends to be more ‘Do I know…?’ rather than ‘You’re the guy from…’ It’s where you’ve sort of battered your way into someone’s subconscious but they think you’re a friend from back at primary school.”

Eddie in Total Film - TDG test screening on Thursday - Exhibition - new/old pic with Rob

Update July 23: The screening has been cancelled

I started to read the David Ebershoff novel this weekend. After the first half of it I can say, to signe for this role was a very brave choice from Eddie. This is not an easy part. Eddie said too, that this is his most challenging role yet.

Picture: Eddie Redmayne as Lili Elbe...cant wait for The Danish Girl. He will give an amazing performance. @artbysamantha (x)

An Eddie Redmayne portrait is part of the new exhibition 'Seeing Somebody You Know' in the Soho Revue Gallery.
Duo Walter & Zoniel have mounted their first exhibition devoted solely to photographic portraits spanning their careers as artists.
In ‘Seeing Somebody You Know’, Walter & Zoniel exhibit works relating to the perception of being. Each process focuses upon
an alternate perspective of our self, and our fixation with capturing
it in a moment.
‘Making memories’ explores the role of the sitter and his or her own personal interaction with past, present and future by exploring their own memories. The series involves portraits of various individuals, both well-known figures, including Eddie Redmayne and Vivienne Westwood, and others less often exposed to the public eye.
