atimetravellersguidetofashion: ...It was a fantastic chance to hear about the work
of Atwood, the four-time Oscar winning costume designer. Did you know that she began her working life selling Yves Saint Laurent in a department store? Of course, who could forget her tudor-inspired dress for Helena Bonham Carter as
the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland (2010).
Check the link to see the headpiece that Atwood picked up in Jakarta years before it made its way into the movies, remodelled and worn by Carmen Ejogo in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016).

Eddie and Felicity In Talks To Pair Again For ‘The Aeronauts’

Felicity and Eddie in The Theory of Everything

Felicity and Eddie at the SAG Awards in 2015

Deadline reported, that the two actors are talking about reteaming on 'The Aeronauts' for Amazon Studios. The period action adventure based on true events about two 19th century hot air balloonists. The movie would be directed by Tom Harper (Peaky Blinders, War & Peace). Felicity Jones (Eddie's co-star in The Theory of Everything) would play balloon pilot Amelia Wren and Eddie Redmayne would be scientist James Glaisher. In 1862, they embarked on an extraordinary journey to discover the secrets of the heavens. In the process, they fly higher in an open balloon than anyone ever has. They make breathtaking discoveries, but as they ascend to the highest reaches of the atmosphere, they are forced into an epic fight for survival.
The project is being produced by Mandeville Films’ Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman. The script is by Jack Thorne, who won Olivier Award for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, based on a J.K. Rowling story, and adapted Philip Pullman’s fantasy novel trilogy His Dark Materials for BBC One...

The project will shoot in London with a Spring 2018 start.

Let it be! I'm very excited (gif source: thelifeasfiction)

Between 1862 and 1866, usually with Henry Tracey Coxwell as his co-pilot, Glaisher made
numerous ascents to measure the temperature and humidity of the atmosphere at its highest levels.
His ascent on 5 September 1862 broke the world record for altitude, but he passed out around
8,800 metres before a reading could be taken. One of the pigeons making the trip with him died.[7]
Estimates suggest that he rose to more than 9,500 metres and as much as 10,900 metres above
sea-level.[8][9][10] (source: Wikipedia)

TBT - THR Les Misérables cover shoot 2012

Samantha Barks and Eddie Redmayne let us know what it was like
working on Tom Hooper's musical and what Sacha Baron Cohen
and Anne Hathaway were like behind the scenes.

Happy Thanksgiving! ❤️😊 ❤️😊 ❤️😊 I’m thankful for my family, Eddie and you.
THR: 'Les Miserables' Actor Eddie Redmayne on His 'X Factor'-Style Audition (Q&A)
"I was making Hick with Chloe Moretz and Blake Lively in North Carolina. One night, we
went over to Blake’s and they turned on some music, and everyone was singing along.
At the time, Les Mis was being played, and they said, “You should audition for that.”
Two nights later, I was in the middle of a field in North Carolina in my trailer and thought,
“Why not give it a shot?” [He ended up filming a video audition “dressed as a cowboy,”
singing “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables.”] I sent it to my agent, [CAA’s] Josh Lieberman,
who sent it to Eric Fellner. The last audition was X Factor style, in a room above the
Queen’s Theatre in the West End, where Les Mis is playing. And behind a panel were the
Working Title producers, Cameron Mackintosh, Claude-Michel Schonberg, Alain Boublil,
Tom Hooper and Nina Gold, the music director. I never felt so terrified in my life."

Newt has a new coat, and it's grey (via @shr_burg)

...The London streets had been transformed into the Fantastic Beasts world,
complete with old vehicles littering the roads... The star was also spotted
laughing with cast and crews, and messing around with his wand on set...

A ray of sunshine

“We delve deeper into [J.K. Rowling’s] wizarding world — we’re in Paris,
we’re in London and New York — the world is expanding,” Heyman says.
“As you can tell from the [cast photo], we’re following quite a few characters.
The new film has a very different feel than the first. It’s got a thriller quality.
And it’s also a story about love and passion and all its forms — paternal,
romantic, political. And it’s just a thrilling and very fun adventure. We took
all we’ve learned from one and just expanded that and created a richer,
deeper and more thrilling film which I’m excited to be a part of.”
